How we check

How we check dumpster prices

Every price on Dumpster Costs is a company's own posted price, from its website or its own online price tool, with a link to the page and the date we saw it. This is how prices get in, which companies are listed and how the prices stay current.

Where prices come from

Only the company's own pages: its price list, a size page, its booking page or its own online price tool. Of the 61 companies with prices, 49 post them on their own pages and 12 in their own price or booking tool.

When a price tool needs a location, we run it with a ZIP code or the address of the city hall, never with a name, email or phone number. If a tool asks for contact details before it shows a price, we stop there and list the company with that reason. Cost guides on other sites, a broker's estimate for another company, national averages and prices customers report never count.

What each price comes with

A price is always shown with its terms: how many days the rental lasts, how many tons of debris are included, the charge for each extra ton, and the kind of debris when the price is for one kind only. When the company does not say, the page says "not stated". Each price also shows the date we saw it and links to the page it came from. Nothing is adjusted, averaged into a company's price or estimated.

Companies with no posted price are listed with the reason, in plain words:

  • Asks for your name, email or phone number before showing a price
  • Call for a quote
  • No price posted
  • Website unreachable
  • Prices only in its own quote tool, whose terms don't allow republishing
  • Prices posted on its own website, whose terms don't allow republishing

Why most map listings are not here

Search for dumpster rental on a map and many of the listings are not dumpster companies. Some are lead-generation sites with keyword names, such as a city name and "dumpster rental", that pass your call to whichever hauler pays them. Some use the same template website in dozens of cities. Some borrow an address that belongs to another business or to nobody at all.

We check each listing's website, phone number and address, and list only businesses that rent dumpsters themselves or book them openly in their own name. Closed businesses, portable toilet and landfill listings, and duplicate listings of one company are left out or merged. We do not name the listings we leave out.

Brokers

Some real businesses do not own dumpsters but book another company's dumpster for you. They are listed, because they post prices, and every table labels them: "Broker: books another company's dumpster". 8 listed companies are brokers.

Who does the checking

AI research agents gather the prices: they read each company's pages, run its price tool where it has one, and record each price with the exact words or screen it came from. Before a price is published, a separate AI verification pass opens its source again and confirms it. Some prices are also spot checked in a browser. No person checks each price. We do not call or email companies for prices.

Dates, and how often we recheck

Every price shows the date we saw it. The latest check was 18 October 2026. We plan to recheck every company monthly. A price seen more than 90 days ago shows its age beside it, so you know to confirm it with the company.

What we do not do

No company pays to be listed, and listings are not for sale. We do not rate companies or pick favorites. Tables are sorted by posted price only. We do not take bookings; the company's own quote for your address and dates is the final word.

Found a mistake?

If a price here no longer matches the company's own page, tell us. We check the page again before changing anything.
